If you follow my ig then you know that I had my six weekly eye injections on Friday.
Yes, an eye specialist injects medication into both my eyes while I am fully conscious but numbed. Just the eyes are numbed, not all of me. Gosh, I wish all of me was.
This is my version of Hell on Earth and although I blink less insanely these days, it is still as awful as you can imagine. Like those alien abduction movies where they stick a needle in someone’s eye. Yes, that.
My eyes take 24 hours to recover from the injections. In the first day after the procedure, my eyes are tired and irritated so they insist on closing without my permission. This is why driving is out of the question. Imagine your eyes deciding it was no-see-time when you’re doing 100km/h on the Gateway. It is best for everyone that I don’t drive.
This altered the way my weekend ran but here were the highikghts…
Movies
I watched three movies:
- Steel Magnolias – Healthy female friendships
- Sex and the City – Unhealthy female friendships
- Ocean’s 11 (the original) – Sexist male friendships
Books
I finished two books:
- How Fascism Works – Recommend it but it is depressing in this climate
- Dungeon Crawler Carl – Highly recommended because it is funny and reminds me of a life wasted on RPGs.
In other news
I also worked on two craft projects and harvested my first batch of cherry tomatoes.
All in all, it was a good weekend.
